"The day is finished and we have spent many an hour searching. Let us rest and after the night, we can pursue the only lead we have: the Lighthouse."

The Cleric speaks to the group as night falls. Wilhelm's endurance is finally beginning to reach its limit.

"Behave yourself. Remember, it is by staying in our good graces that you stay alive."

“O, i'm sorry sir. I won't be bothering you with the question again”

“You don´t have the guts to kill me. You only have the guts to leave me without dinner.” Says Oren. “But you´ll learn soon how to make a man –or an orc- talk…”

“Unless you accept my offer. Set me free, give my weapons back and I tell you what you need to know. You´ve already lost a day. Get back to the lighthouse, you lose another. And you don´t have many days to waste.”

Roddick, who was hanging back, avoiding questioning the brigand now feels his adventurous blood rising again.

Why is he making the demands? We are the adventurers, the heroes. He isn't the villain but he can lead us where we need to go. We should either do the right thing and release him or we should use some nastier means to get to the same end.

Roddick pauses for a while...

And what if he is right? What if we only have a couple of days? We should at least know what exactly is going to happen after those days?

You do not want to try my patience and challenge me. You are no more than a fly in my dinner: irritating, but part of my meal nontheless. But if are willing to tell us what we wish to know, I am willing to listen. Do we have an agreement then? We let you go and you tell us hat we want to know?

Wilhelm has washed his hands on the matter of their captive. He keeps watch over their surroundings while the others talk to Oren. If they're making camp at this spot, then he starts collecting firewood or otherwise, preparing for rest.

[ooc: Two votes for accepting Oren´s treat, and one abstain, so even if Eroin says no the option of releasing him wins. I assume your words aren´t a bluff, since you didn´t say so. If they are, roll a bluff check against DC 12; if you all (I mean Roddick and Hulgyr) succeed, read the spoilers.]

[sblock]Oren looks at you and presents his hands to be untied. Once free, he stands up, with some difficulty after spending half the day tied and gagged and being lugged like a sack. “I think it´s my turn, isn´t it?” says. “Well, you´re looking for the missing ships, I´m sure.”

“They were destroyed. My boss is a gal called Erqua, an unlucky bitch from a pirate ship. After his ship was sunk and the captain killed, he was without job for a while, until he approached us with an offer.”

“<<We´ll be rich>>, he said. And told us the plan: to destroy the lighthouse north of seawell, and build a fake one to lead the ships to the reefs at night. We told them he was mad; what about the lizardmen? How to get the goods out there? But all he said was he had ´contacts´ and that all of that wasn´t a problem.”
“It turned to be work really well. We loot our ships, dismantle them so there´s nothing left and classify the goods. Then the lizardmen keep the soldiers busy, and from time to time come and transport the goods out of the marshes; seems they get paid in weapons, from someone I don´t know. I was coming back from telling them to come and get the loot from the last ship. They´ll be at the camp in four days.”

“The camp is two days from here. You´d better return to the coast and follow it north, you can´t really miss it. They have patrols near it, of two men, day and night. And there are a total of nine of them left. Be careful with a woman and a dwarf, they are the most dangerous of the lot; she can cast spells, and the dwarf is a real bastard.”

“Any other question?”[/sblock]

It wasn't a bluff for Roddick.
ooc: Indeed, no bluff

Wouldn't it be lot easier if you told us this before? It matters little now.
Indeed, I have some questions for you:
- How large is the group of lizardmen?
- Where can these lizardmen be found? or where do you meet with them?
- Where is the cargo from the ships stored before it is taken out of the marshes?
- Where do you intent to ga after we release you?

Oren eyes you and scratches his beard. "Never seen them all. An entire tribe, I suppose. About forty, maybe more?"

"Go where you found me and walk south. You won´t miss them. Actually, they won´t miss you."

"You mean after the lizards pick it? I have no idea. Not my business."

"Very far from here, I tell you."

So far, he seems to be telling the truth.
