Wrong amount of experience for killing Crimson Death

Hello !

During our last night of D&D, I think our DM grossly miscalculated the amout of
experience awarded to our group for killing a Crimson Death.

Would one of you be kind enough to calculate its worth in XP
and post a reply ? That would help.

I'm pretty sure your DM awarded precisely the correct amount of experience for the encounter.

Next time, check out the list of WotC monsters before your brain crashes! The crimson death is in MM2. CR 11, so for a 1st-level party that's, um, oodles of XP. Minus 10% for not giving the DM a double share of the cheetos.

Many factors can adjust XP awards. From the fight being very easy from favorable circumstance [up to -50%] to whole CRs being dropped by having critical special abilities removed from the creature.
