WW's Adventure/Abberent/Trinity to be d20! (Merged w/other thread)

I got it second hand, but someone from WW staff said the new WOD it will be a varient of WW, that's why not? :) Not everyone is so opposed to dice pools.

In my experineces, if you have a good GM, a lot of d20 players will pretty much enjoy any setting he puts before them. As long as the GM uses d20. While I am not happy about it, I think WW made a savvy decision. I know that I'll get more people to play now that it is d20.

Now, with the Continuum Game Setting being re-done as a d20 game, what're the odds of the new WoD being d20?

WW has already noted in press releases that the new World of Darkness will feature an updated Storyteller system.

Which will probably be more of a tweak than a whole update. I'm guessing that it'll be more than a little similar to Exalted, which is awesome by the way.

I'm sure the new WoD will resemble the execution of Exalted and the Dark Ages line. There will be one core book (Vampire most likely) with all of the basic rules and then the other books (Werewolf, Mage, etc.) will have rules specific for that game.

Yeah, I was hoping the Continum was going to come out like that when we thought it was going the ST route.

On that note, for the d20 format I think it was wise they made each game stand alone. At the very least, then d20 fans have the option of picking up each game if they happen to like what WW did with the rules for that particular game (i.e. while a d20 fan may not care about the setting, they might go for the psionic or superhero rules.)

In fact, I bet they will offer sidebars on how to tweak the rules so as to make them a little more generic (like Taintless Superhero rules)

Great news. I was never a huge fan of the Storyteller system but I bought Adventure! anyway based on the high praise it recieved over on RPG.net. I really enjoyed reading the game, and stole some ideas for Pulp Heroes but didn't do anything else with it - the system it used and lack of official support didn't make it very appealing to me.

Hopefully the line will sell and Adventure! willl finally get some official support...

Continuum is a time travel game by a company called Aetherco.

Yep, it seems that WW's "working title" for their d20 revamp of their SF lines has also given Aetherco some bonus press.

I never heard of this game until Continuum fans started to spill out of the woodwork to "correct" everyone.

LOL! I had even started a thread about d20 "Continuum" rules and it was taken over by aspiring IP lawyer wanna-bes who had to let everyone know about Aetherco.

Just to comment on the new WoD...if they are going to have a new WoD with the same trappings as the old...Vampires, Werewolfs, Mages, etc...then there's no reason to get rid of the old WoD because it will just be the same whole thing all over again, just an updated Storyteller system.

Now, if the new WoD is actually a modern day version of Exalted, but grittier, then that would be really cool. Exalted I can get into. The WoD I can't.

Sorry for the minor hijack. Back to the topic at hand.
