X-files 2 - anyone seen it yet?

Haven't seen it yet, but I wanna know how good it is.... I'm hoping it is good obviously, but I have heard one thing and can't verify if it is true. Highlight below to see what it is:

I heard Scully and Mulder had a romantic affair, and have a kid in between them. Feel free to let me know if they do, as that is something I would not like

I saw it last night. Not terrible, but it does not build on any of the unresolved plots of the series. It was also lacking in the fantastic. It could have been done as two random investigators rather than Scully and Moulder and worked just as well - it did not exactly scream 'X-Files!' :erm:

My real question though was 'When the Hell did Billy Connolly get old?!!'

Considering that I have been listening to him since the seventies I shouldn't have been surprised, but somehow he stopped getting older in my head around 1985 or so.

The Auld Grump, trying to avoid spoilers such as Scully dying in the second reel. (Lying - :p )

I thought the idea was a "monster of the week" film? A film dealing with the mytharc would be a bad idea. Perhaps the next movie will deal with the 2012 scenario -aka the ending of the world - if there´s a next movie, of course.

I´ve to wait until next sunday before I can watch it, grrrr.

That happened in the series and is mentioned in the movie, along with some other references to some events from the show, but ultimately it is mythology and conspiracy free. As I told a friend, I can see a lot of it's just a long episode comments.

I however, did like. Though as TheAuldGrump said it easily been a generic movie without losing anything.

That's Frank Black territory. I'd love to see a Millennium movie instead of another X-files.

So would Lance, as he mentioned in one the special features for the season three set that I finally finished watching.

We can hope it will actually happen.

I enjoyed it but I am a fan so take that for what it is worth. The film is like a double episode. I think the X-Files movies need to stay away from the big budget SF/X and do what they do best; good story telling. This movie does a credible job of just that.

It was enjoyable but not a movie that needs to be seen on the big screen like many of this years blockbusters. It has some solid themes running through it and also a few plot holes. I would have liked a few more references to the show.
