X-files movie #2?

This is great news!
I really liked the X-files and the movie. I´m sure that Chris Carter can please the fans once more. I want to know more about the supersoldiers, Scullys child and who the mystical man from the trial that the kid (Gibson Praise?) identified as "an alien" is.
And Mulder will be back!! Yay!!
One of my favourite shows!!

Given all of the events around the end of the series, will it pick up from there? Will they explain what happened to the characters since the last movie, or will it just be "dive right in". I watched every episode, and I wouldn't mind a recap myself.

Personally, I would prefer a "stand alone" episode involving an intestigation not directly related to the series' mythos/conspiracy storyline. But I'm not sure they can do that, given how the TV series ended.

I hope Scully is still a hottie. :p

Whether or not the movie is good is going to entirely depend on the crispness and intelligence of the plotting/writing. I still think Carter has some apologizing to do after the last few seasons, but a smart story might make me forget all that.

I'm all for a good Mulder/Scully comeback ... the next-to-last season left such a bad taste in my mouth I blew off the last season.

PC -- keep it down, man! My spousal unit already thinks I have a thing for a certain FBI MD ...

She should be. I'm pretty sure she's still under 40 (not that a 40+ year old woman can't be a hottie).

Anyway, I'm stoked to hear this. I miss the X-Files.

We can only hope that it is a film adaption of "Jose Chung's: From Outer Space"!

I always liked the one-off episodes better than the conspiracy episodes, but I imagine Carter would only be interested in doing the movie to advance the conspiracy storyline.

Not me. I love the conspiracy stories. The only question now is whether or not there is some way that they can stop the invasion. If so, this would make an awesome movie, and redeem the series after that dissatisfying ending. Regardless, I think the movie will be lacking without the Lone Gunmen. :(
