X-Men: First Class

Well I think they did a great job, particularly the Xavier/Magneto relationship. It definitely messes around with the timeline, but it's a movie that's as much about the characters as it is about the action. Seriously, one of the better superhero movies in a while.

I loved it. Fassbender did a great job as Magneto, even if his Irish accent came on a bit strong at the end. What's with screwing with the nationality of the characters though? Moira American? Banshee American? Also, my main complaint, the new "Angel". Why call her that with an Angel character already in the films? Am I missing something from the comics?

It's another mutant that used the codename Angel for a while (before changing it to Tempest) Angel Salvadore - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
But, yes, she isn't very well known (particularly in comparison to the other Angel) and I know many people (even avid comic readers) who have been confused by it... it was definitely a confusing choice to say the least.

Angel Savadore.. she was created by Grant Morison in 2001 (?). During her time with at Xaviers she refused to recieve a code name (can you blame a mutate with house fly powers for not wanting a code name?). Also, even though Morison seemed to have been trying to make her into the next Shadowcat Jubilee (and failed, thankfully cause you know, gross) she was not placed on any squads and only appeared in the student related portions of the New X-Men. Also, she was a much better character when she lost her ability to barf acid on people and give birth to winged maggot bird babies* thanks to the Post-Morison Scarlet Witch induced universe retcon.

Also it should be noted that during the time! Angel Savadore was with the Angel was appart of the X-Treme X-Men and were off finding Destiny's Diaries.


* Yes that really happened during Morison's run.

As a movie and a time piece it was very good.

As a comicbook fan watching it hurt at times.

Someone's cameo in the movie stole the entire movie.


The character's were well done still. It was much better than I had expected. I hope they do sequals (silly me... already planned and scripted no doubt)
