Actually, I'm not! :)

But the Dream Park books do a nice job of showing the "team action" to overcome a dungeon/adventure run by a league which rates you by how well you do in the adventure - along with the ultimate "metagaming" enviroment.

Book and videos rights of the game bring big returns to the participants (if the game is exciting), along with Vegas taking bets on which team may win, who in the team will survive, etc. if it is a multi-team/competitive/who-finishes-first type of game (Dream Park/Barsoom Project aren't this way, but Califirnia Vodoo Game is).

So while it isn't "American Gladiators" per se, it is a similar framework (like a sports league) so I though it might be worth checking out (and it almost might be an interesting use of d20 modern to be able to create the characters).

Just thought I'd throw them in for people to check out, don't feel bound to do so! :)

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the positive feedback! I'll try to get some more meat about the setting on the site soon. The game ships in about two weeks, so we're kinda swamped right now, but we're plugging along the best we can.

We hope to have a message board on the site sometime before the end of the year. I have no problem with Delphi personally, but why ostracize anyone?

As to the whole Dreampark comparison: I can see it. It never even came up while we were working on the book, but then again neither did Running Man, and I hear that A LOT! ON the whole though, I think that you'll find Xcrawl very different from either of those concepts. It's hard to capture everything about the game in a simple blurb, which is why I'm posting in places like this. I want to know what people are looking for so that I can put it out there; I want people to understand our game.

For clarification's sake: Xcrawl isn't a d20 Modern book. It uses the classic d20 system. It is essentially fantasy role-playing in a modern era. We will probably be doing a quick translation guide to d20 Modern that will be available as a free download from the site.

Speaking of our site: please be patient with us. I know that it's kinda clunky, but we're trying to get that fixed, too.

Again, thanks for all the feedback! Let me know anything else that crosses your minds!

Zenon, I think you're confusing "amusement parks" with "death sports". Remind me to never go to Disneyland with you. ;)

I guess you've never seen Rollercoaster (ca. 1977 w/ George Segal and Timothy Bottoms)...
