I'm not sure if they do take interest away from my weekly payments. They have a minimum payment, but as soon as I send any amount of money its deducted straight from the balance so I don't see where the interest is being applied (eg, $100 balance + $50 payment = $50 balance, $0 interest?) Silly, I know. Of course they must but it's just not apparent.
I can sympathise with this. Luckily, I have lots more debt in the realitively cheap world of student loans than in consumer debt, but we used our credit card while I was in grad school quite a bit too. Between eliminating high interest debt (all these recent offers of 0% balance transfers help temporarily, too!) and trying to get enough money to buy a house in a relatively expensive market means my game purchases have been pretty slim the last few years.Henry said:After beginning the long climb this year up from Credit Hell, I can feel for you. If you got the income, go for it - looks like you've purchased some awesome resources - especially the counter collections, which have come to be my new gamer cocaine (darn you, Claudio!). But it's taking me a looooong time to return up the slippery slope.
Azure, I'm not writing to chide you on the evils of enjoying your credit. I just wanted to say that this paragraph made me giggle like a giddy schoolgirl. Especially the "Fi diddly dee" part.Azure Trance said:I am but a mere mortal - a puny cog in the great machine of finance. I do not pretend to understand things such as these, but only how to respond to them. If I hear howls on a full moon I put a circle of salt around my home. If a black cat rubs me on my leg, I kick it and run away. If a duck can float, so can a witch, and that might mean you can too. And if there's some sort of interest for my credit card debt I don't see it for it's kept will hidden from me. Just as I might pray my food reserves will last me during a harsh winter, I'll pray that my little offerings to the bank will sate its voracious appetite (usually sent once a week in denominations of one or two hundred dollars. Savings account isn't relevant since why save when you can get it NOW!).
