[XPH] Powers for a 6:th level Psion

What part in quotes? Do you mean the part in parentheses?

I agree with Thanee, the description pretty clearly states that augmenting it raises the bonus, not the cap on the bonus. I don't have a problem with the power otherwise.

Psionicist, your selection of discipline will impact your power choices, since the discipline lists often have powers that are better versions of powers on the general list. If you want "versatile," I would recommend a psychokineticist, unless your DM is overly fond of humanoids, in which case you might want a telepath. But a psychokineticist backed up with crystal shard, swarm of crystals, and/or concussion blast is able to tear apart just about everything... for a little while, anyway. :)

Some other power suggestions: touchsight (60-ft blindsight!), inflict pain (guaranteed penalty to hit), entangling ectoplasm (touch attack, no save, no PR, no way to escape - nasty), detect hostile intent (can't be surprised), mind thrust (it's an all-or-nothing, but when it works...).

I cannot stress the importance of a MAXXED-OUT concentration score; it's more important to a Psion than even a Wizard, Sorcerer, Druid, or Cleric. It controls your displays, your psionic focus, and defensive manifests. Heck, I'd even drop a Skill focus into it, if I were you (since skill focus would be generally more important than narrow mind or defensive manifesting).

For powers, the crystal spells (crystal shard and crystal arc), while inferior in damage, do NOT allow spell resistance rolls from creatures, in much the same way that Melf's Acid Arrows do not. And Astral constructs are NOT to be underestimated, especially if your game has a lot of non-combat interaction. Having a construct you can manifest, who can reach areas you cannot, and who can be mentally controlled, cannot be underestimated.

EDIT - I thought it was anti-magic fields, but it was that constructs can enter magic circles.

I'd think it'd be better to take Psicrystal Affinity and get a single-minded psicrystal, rather than taking skill focus (concentration). You'd get a +3 to concentration AND a handy pet rock.

Wow, many great suggestions here. Thanks! :)

Regarding discipline. My latest character was a very charismatic, persuasive Apostle of Peace type so Telepath is out of the question. I want to (at least be able to) blow things up for once, so a Kineticist is probably a good idea. I am not overly fond of combat though, so a few damage dealing powers is more than enough. :)

The list this far. Four damage dealing powers, I can probably remove one, Energy Ray perhaps? Not sure about Detect Psionics either.

1: Energy Ray
1: Detect Psionics
1: Vigor
1: Entagling Ectoplasm
1: Crystal Shard
2: Concussion Blast
2:
1: Force Screen (I will probably take a light armor proficiency feat so Inertial Armor is meaningless)
2:
3: Dispel Psionics
3: Energy Cone
3: Telekinetic Force
3:
1: Astral Construct (Is it a good idea to Expanded Knowledge it?)

Suggestions welcome. :)
