XPH -- powers spreadsheet?

EricNoah

Is anyone working on an Expanded Psionics Handbook powers spreadsheet? I am going to start working on one (very slowly as I will have to disect Steve Mulhern's spell sheet to figure out how he did certain things), but if someone else is doing it please let me know. I'd be interested in helping with data entry if nothing else. Thanks!

You enter a character's stats (like level, race, and spellcasting ability, plus relevant feats) and then select the powers you know, and it auto-calculates level/stat-dependent variables and makes a nice chart. I use them all the time for PCs and especially NPC spellcasters -- I rarely if ever need to crack open a book and I don't have to do math on the fly, which is something I like to avoid. Sample (this is a copy and paste from Excel to a web editor, with a little cleanup like a few columns removed and some bold added to the headers): http://webpages.charter.net/ericnoah/noahrpg/vangkor_spells.htm

The one I am doing may be a little less fancy than your goal.

You put in manifester level and prime ability score and it calculates save DCs and level dependent information - range, damage, number of targets, etc...

I have not included feats, race, etc...
Those could be easily layered in.

Here is a druid spell list that is complete as an example.

Cool. I went ahead and started on mine and have the basic "parts" in and functioning. Lots of data to enter! Here's what I currently have (so you can see the direction I'm going).

As a side note -- I'm noticing that as compared to the D&D or AU spell sheets, the data entry is easier because the powers don't scale and so you rarely have a formula to construct; but the description field has more stuff in it because you have to describe the possible augmentations.

Here is a draft with only the Psion Wilder list complete.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing, less formula, more description.

Your version is more elaborate than mine, so I may not be offering what you are looking for. I've found my spell lists to be valuable cheat sheets, but they are not intended to be complete documenations.

Anyway, perhaps you can at least do a little cut-n-paste to save on typing.

:)
