My 5,000 posts celebration got killed in the EN World crash, so here's one for 6,000 instead.

Well, EN World has solidified as the place online I spend most of my time. Thanks for making it so.

In 2007, I would like to:
* Play more D&D
* Play more boardgames
* Collect more D&D, DDM and boardgames
* Post about them
* Do some creative writing

Funnily enough, I'll be taking (as in teaching) an "Ad Astra" class at the school where I work. The topic? Board Games. That should be interesting...

Cheers!

I *am* a computer programmer, not a teacher. However, Ballarat Grammar runs a few "Ad Astra" subjects for the really bright students. I've volunteered (or been volunteered) to run a "Science of Boardgames" unit this year, which will look at the design, theory and play of boardgames - particularly the Eurogames I like so much, but also a few classic games and current US games.

My vague plans currently involve the following games:
* Snakes & Ladders
* Tic-Tac-Toe - don't laugh; they're both very important developmental games for young children
* Monopoly
* Settlers of Catan
* Carcassonne
* Talisman
* Tigris & Euphrates
* BattleLore
* Ticket to Ride
* Puerto Rico
* Lord of the Rings
* World of Warcraft: the Board Game (as an example of what not to do... I like the game, but...)

Cheers!

So are you technically being paid to play board games or is it entirely a volunteer position?
