Bowing before his defeated enemy, Moth says, "I thank you, oh spirit of the Panther, for your aid in defeating this, your natural prey. I thank you, oh spirit of the Rat, for your aid in defeating this abomination that mocks the form of your own children." He takes up the rat-monster's dagger and prepares to administer the coup de grace... then stops.

"Perhaps you are intelligent," he says aloud, "and capable of conversation, like the goblins. I have heard stories of were-rats and rat-men, and while such creatures come off poorly in the tales, it is possible that you are more than a rabid killer and eater of men. We shall see..." With this, Moth finds more vines and, once again, binds his fallen foe. He then sits on a rock with his back to the cliff-face, and waits for the wererat to awaken.

*The rat awakens.... battered and stunned......when he regains somewhat he realises he is tied..... before you have a chance to see if he's responsive....the changes forms...to a rat.... smaller than the ropes that you have tied.... he squeezes out of them and scurries away.......*

Moth laughs aloud as the rat scurries away. "Ah, so you are a shape-changer!" he shouts. "Very good! I see I shall have to keep a sharp eye out for you in the future. Do not try and fight me again, though, for I have learned your techniques and I shall be ready for you!"

Continuing down the path a ways, Moth grows curious about the window-like openings. When he finds one low enough, he leaps up to grasp its lower edge, then pulls himself up until he can see inside. (Should it be too dark inside, he will pull himself up onto the sill, then use his magic to coax a sunbeam-spirit to follow him and illuminate the area for him.)

*With all the openings in the cliff face it's well lit....... you what appers to be a long narrow pathway that runs along side the path....... about 500ft down the walkway....the path continues strait and there is also a passageway the goes into the ciff to your left... it is very dark and damp down this way..some sort of light will be needed......*

"Oh, very curious," says Moth. "This must have taken great effort to carve out. I wonder if its makers still live here?"

Upon reaching the dark passageway, Moth goes to a window and raises his hands to the sky. "Oh spirits of sun and moon," he says, "I seek to bring light to the dark places. Will you walk with me into darkness?"

The sword sucker punches the fountain; shields against the pain of the horn!

((If Moth successfully coaxes a light-spirit to follow him, he'll go down the dark passage. Otherwise, he'll continue along the hall of windows parallel to the path.))

*A small flash of light appers just with your vision to your right and a sun faerie appers....... and looks like it is willing to fallow...... tho it does not speak.....*

*The passage is wet..... very wet....you're waling in about a foot an a half of water... untill is slopes upward... you walk up desent incline for about a half a mile before that passage come to an end.... on the other side... an overlook..and about 500ft below you is what appers to be the Red Star Temple....... there is a rope ladder off the side of the overlook..... but it looks none to sturdy....... it is your choice weather or not to risk the rope ladder......*

"Thank you, oh spirit of the Sun, for consenting to light my way."

...

After the long slog through the wet tunnel, Moth is delighted to emerge once more into light, and exhilirated by the view from the overlook. "So that is the Red Star Temple!" he exclaims. "It must be quite old, from the look of it... perhaps the Chang Dynasty? No matter... well, it certainly is a long way down, isn't it? And I wonder how I reached it through that tunnel... perhaps I got turned around in there, or perhaps the valley curves back upon itself."

After taking a few minutes to enjoy the sunshine and the cool brisk air, Moth takes a careful look at the ladder. "Well, this looks a bit weak. Perhaps my magic can strengthen it, eh?" Seating himself in the lotus position, he pulls a few dried cherry blossom petals from his satchel, crushes them, and sprinkles the dust on the ladder. "Oh spirits of root and branch," he says, "spirits of the noble cherry tree! I beseech you, lend your strength and your resilience to this ladder, that it might bear my weight in my journey and upon my return!"

The cherry blossom annihilates the well; conceals the chaos of the reptile!

((If the spell succeeds, he'll climb down the ladder; otherwise he'll take no chances and go back the way he came.))

*The ladder looks to strenthen a little bit.....but it's still a bit of a chance.... it'll take some balance to climb down safely.........*

"Thank you, spirits of root and branch!" says Moth. "I'll trust in your blessings. Well, here we go!" With that, he grasps the rungs of the rope ladder and, nimble as a fox, scrambles down as carefully and gracefully as he can, taking care not to strain the ladder overmuch.

The fox appears before the glacier; grasps the quickening of the isle!

*you climb down ten feet and hit a slippey spot...... *
