As the monk shifts to high, long-ranged leaping attacks, Moth tries to tumble in close and pummel the monk at short range.

The staff tumbles close to the ricefield; fends off the cut of the ledge!

Monk: The ki-rin dances in the midst of the pillars; averts the slash of the blade!
 

As soon as the monk grasps the fact that they are fighting at close quarters, Moth pulls away. He darts across the room and aims a flying kick at the lizardman.

The fox kicks across the hells; guards against the aggression of the cave!

Monk: The foot rends the dungeon; redirects the roar of the insect!
 

Guarding against the monk's kicks, Moth tries to pummel it into submission.

The staff drowns the volcano; guards against the chi of the elements!

Monk: The northstar attacks the swamp; absorbs the speed of the fortification!
 

Drawing deeply on his chi, Moth lets forth a mighty kiai shout, powerful enough to stun the battered monk! He then renders it unconscious with a gentle tap to the back of its head.

Against the monk: Chair Shot!

Once again, Moth takes the opportunity to bind his fallen foe, taking special care to make the knots strong enough to hold a creature as powerful as a lizardman. He then employs his magical talents to examine the monk for any sort of malign spell or spirit that may have taken control of its body and mind.

Learning what's wrong with the monk: The staff seeks below the grotto; absorbs the descent of the farm! *yen*

Moth smiles. "So, then, you are free," he says to the unconscious monk. "Very good." Untying the ropes, he waits for the monk to awaken.

(OoC: I'm assuming that your description means that the monk is still alive. If that was his soul leaving his body in death, let me know. :-D )
