Ye old Birthright

Yeah, I saw that Birthright.net is now back up. I'm going to be looking at it again when I have a chance, though I don't like the 4E stuff as I mentioned earlier.

Birthright.net has a looot of resources that are version independant. Most of the most interesting talks are just about the setting, medieval history,...

I'm having difficulty in figuring out the overall gold bars and regency of each domain. I can't figure that all out since it's not all listed. What I mean to say is that while I'm trying to make each Regent a seperate NPC so that I can run all domains at the same time (pre-plan them and run whichever important ones at the moment to the knowledge of the PCs). However, I do need to know like... How many GBs does Aerenwe have and how much regency does it generate/has it accumulated? Do I just need to keep looking throughout the book and I'll find the info? If so, then I'll feel like a Dunce. Figured if a few domains list the GB/Regency info then all of them should.

Now I'm pretty much trying to figure out how to convert the game's map onto a game board so that it'll be easier to play with without damaging the map. That and also looking for older Birthright campaigns to see what I might be able to find that would be of use to me.

was it because of the low powered nature of the setting (when people say they D&D is medieval fantasy RPG, the only setting I think of is Brithright and NOT the Realms or Greyhawk) and thus was TOO medieval/low powered for D&D?

Masque of the Red Death was even lower magic than Birthright and Jakandor had some breaks on magic itself. And neither was a medieval campaign. MotRD was Victorian and Jakandor was Mayans vs. Vikings. Even Al Qadim had a no generalist rule and thus no spellcaster except the Sha'ir (or in later books the Jackal) had access to the entire spell list and they had their own restrictions.

Alright, I am curious about something. I know that WotC is possibly doing Birthright for 4E, but how goes the Birthright.net attempt at it?

There's no organized community effort for Birthright 4e. The 3e conversion was a titanic work and I think no one wants to volunteer to perform that again.

But people are free to post and discuss their 4e ideas for a conversion and put them in the wiki is they see it fit (lot of people are doing that btw).

There is some sort of post in the WotC Forums which mentions that while Birthright isn't written off it is also not on the tallest of orders. It is at least a decent possibility that Birthright will be renewed for 4E albeit massively altered (not a direct quote but how I read it at least).

Do you have a link please? I would really love to see Birthright 4e (or at least kingdom management rules...).
