The existence of imperfect legislation justifies doing a lot of work and actually understanding the issues before accepting new legislation, though.

If you look at what I have written here, you should note that my objections are about legislation that has no actual support behind it, no plan for implementation. Half-arsing this sort of thing with legislation written by people who have no expertise in either the technology or human psychological development ends in security theater.

I'm young for this space (just shy of 30). But, I sought out older discussion boards because the algorithm is better for involved discussions than modern social media. I do wonder when they'll go away. So much stuff is on discord now, where you can't get into the weeds of anything and anything older than a week might as well be gone forever.
