Methinks hong is not complaining... so no solutions need be proposed.

Yep. It was a bit weird having a fight go for more than 5 rounds for a change.

The next fight was against a dozen 3-5 HD orc and drow shadow spirit warriors. They didn't last long against an earth reaver (SavSp), holy smite, diamond spray (BoED) and cone of cold. What was scary was that neither did the half-dozen 11 HD guys.

"He makes his save... and dies!"

"He makes his save... and dies!"

"He makes his save... and dies!"

etc.

Wow. So he can "cure minor wounds" three times per day? That's gotta be helpful. :)

She. And the cleric level was more or less taken for background reasons - the character joined a church in Mulhorand. And cure minor wounds is a life saver when someone is at negative hitpoints, stabilises them without a roll (as we play it). Generally though healing is not done during a battle, but afterwards with potions, or through bedrest and care.

Has anyone else run a game for a party with 4 full-time divine casters? Talk about unkillable!
I'm playing in a game with 2 clerics, 2 paladins, a mystical theurge, and I'm playing an astral deva (with SS rules). It is... interesting. But we are around 6th-7th level, so things aren't quite as impressive - with some exceptions. We killed a CR 13 or 14 creature who had the disgrace of not being able to see invisible things; I used the deva's globe of invisibility and left only one meleer to fight. Everyone else buffed him through the roof and healed him fully every round, until the creature finally attempted to flee and got killed by the AoO.

bah... you should've made him(barb) roll a saving throw vs. each heal spell cast on him by the divine guys.

failed save = conversion to the god healing him.

Make the Golem go after the casters? "Kill the healer first" is a staple tactic in any computer RPG.

Unfortunately golems are too dumb for good tactics.

The golem hit several PCs; whichever one it hit got the healing.

I do not see this as a problem at all. It sounds like everyone is having a great time and this is the group's schtick. Players never appreciate it when you work to undermine their specific schtick.

It's not the group's usual tactic, but the golem had such high DR that the other characters could barely hurt it(barb was the only one with power attack), and was immune to any attack spells that were available.

Also, be sneaky, and say that some god has seen his exploits, and has deemed him worthy of lesser godhood. send him on some solo quests which are next to impossible to accomplish through force of arms. MAKE HIM use his head ie smarts. If you've ever read Conan, you'll see that he is also very smart, and more often than not he uses his brains to get out of scrapes rather than his brawn (though the parts where he uses his brawn are usually pretty incredible, by Crom!)

That wouldn't be a problem; the barbarian has the highest Int, second highest Cha, and third highest Wis in the group.

Maybe I should get you to help design these NPCs for me. ;)
