Yet another DM problem (*sigh*)

Here are two more tips that I came up with after my last post.

When I start a new campaign that has the possibility of lasting a while, I don't let any of my current friends into it. I try to find as much new blood as possible. What this has resulted in over the years is that now, when I want to game, I literally have a player pool of about 80+ folks to assemble. Of course I am the DM so that may not be as helpful as I first thought it was...

One thing that we have instituted is the Mother F***er rule. Basically, when one of the players or DM is being a total dick, anyone at the table can pull the person in question aside and call him an MFer (crude I know, but unbelievably effective). It really works as a wake up call, bear in mind though, this is something EVERYONE agreed upon, so when it happens, everyone knows what is going down. It has saved a few campaigns from utter destruction.

DMing is about helping players have FUN and enjoy the game, not being on a power-trip.

Your DM is a jerk. Unless he's family, kick him out at least for a few sessions until he realizes, the only treasure gained by playing the game is the friendship and comraderie among the players.

Life is short enough without having to deal with idiots and dumbasses. There's too many of them in the real world, let alone at the gaming table.
