yet another War of the Worlds?!

while browsing in FYE the other day, I ran across a version of WOW I hadn't seen before.. this one stars C. Thomas Howell and Jake (?) Busey. From what the cover shows, the Martian walkers are low slung four legged things, rather than the towering three legged ones from the book. Anyone ever see this one?

Dunno, but there's a spectacular stage version of the Jeff Wayne musical starting near me next year. Pretty excited about that!

That's the independant version that was getting some small amount of press attention a while back. It sort of quietly went away.

This latest one's a tv movie, I think. Yet another modern "update", sigh.

There has already been an independent film of WotW released on video - it's perfectly dreadful from what I hear. I posted a really funny review of it that my friend did, but I can't find the post now. It must have been archived.

The first season of the TV show is coming out next month, too.

I liked the first season a lot. The 2nd was awful, IMHO.
