Yikes, Spikes!

I was thinking of a material reward for a high-level dungoen crawl, specifically a set of super-armor. I then designed a set of +4 Acid and Lightning Resistant Full-Plate armor. Then i added spikes. This is where my question appears:

In the PHB, armor spikes are considered a weapon non-affected by the armor's enchantments. I then ponder, can I not then enchant the spikes as a weapon? Not only that, but can I also generate the armor to be intelligent, including the spikes attached to the armor? Would this sentience be instilled in the armor holistically, or could I instill 2 different "personalities" in both the armor, and the spikes, yeilding a "schitzo" set of armor? Of course, I am creating the adventure, but I'd like to see the responses of others.

So far, this is my "prototype":
+4 Acid and Lightning resistant Full-Plate armor; intellignt, (NG align.) - Spikes attached (+3 Flaming, also intelligen (CE align.))

What I think is great about the possibility of this "Schitzo armor" is that It opens a whole new dimension of gameplay, imagine, the armor and the spikes attached to it argue constantly!

Yes, afaik you can create magic armor spikes.

Yes, you could make the outfit intelligent, either as a whole (and the spikes would either be part of the armor or not affected by the intelligence, and the armor might have an opinion about those agressive offensive things are attached to it, which is a defender, no offender.....) or as two items (be sure to have them have an equal ego score, but maybe other strengths in the ability scores) They could act as the "good and bad voice" like the devil and angel that sit on your shoulder and advice you. Make one RG and one CE, or one CG and one LE, or just NG and NE. The latter would be ideal for a neutral character (and on a CN character, there might lead to the most hilarious situations!)

I know that, technically, the armor spikes won't damage the wearer of the suit, but personally, I would make one of the two resistances fire resistance. :)
