The Federal reserve Chairman, Alan Greenspan, commented upon the recent growth in the American Economy.

"The tariffs have caused a sudden upsurge in the our economy. Europe and Asia's responce to them will be felt within the year."

His off-camera comment is sending jitters through the stock market and the DOW is down.

Since winning the election on the Agrarian ticket, President Kenneth Nealy has managed to force through several bills to help the small farmers in the American West.

The latest bill, deragoatorily called the "Repatriation Bill' is the most sweeping land bill in the history of the UNited States. Much like the promised to settlers in the late 19th Century, this bill proposes to allow Americans to return to their roots as small farmers.

The elimination of multination and corporate farming co-ops caused sharp drops in the stock market.

The untimely death of the Federal Reserve chairman two days ago has created a near panick in the financial communities of America. He was seen as the last calm, reasoned voice associated with the administration.

The 5 year global ressession has finally struck the American industrial community and agrarian heartland. Boeing announced 50,000 lay-offs today, American Airlines has officially closed its doors, SEARS has declared bankruptcy and intends to dissolve within the year, and Walmart has announced its 5th quartly losses.

With National Unemployment soaring near 17% and the price of gas reaching nearly $4.00 a gallon, few see an easy year ahead.

An demonstration in the Marriana Refugee Camp north of Memphis turned violent today. Elements of the 11th Infantry, reserve, were deployed to quell the uprising.
17 members of the 11th are reported killed with more than 100 wounded. Estimates on the number killed in the camp are spiralling towards 500.

In other news, Greenpeace claimed responsibility for a pipline bombing in Alaska.

President Nealy today announced an extension of the State of Emergency in Memphis.
