You cant mimic what youve never seen.

The way I'm playing her, she doesnt like to be tied to anything specific so Im hoping I won't need a deity. This PrC is easily the coolest Ive ever seen and I can't wait to explore the role playing aspect of being able to change into whatever class the party need. "What the hell? yesterday you turned undead, today youre picking traps and using sneak attack?" I am going to have SO much fun with this PrC when I finally get it. (Im 2nd level)

One thing about being deity-less in FR is that if you die there is no chance of being raise/resurected etc. Mask would seem to be a good option, or ask about worshipping the pantheon.

Not that I know anything about the Chameleon but if you can qualify for it at 6th, then you have 3+ levels to learn something from a cleric, go and talk to one. Just because you do not have a cleric in the party does not mean that you have NEVER seen a cleric (your knowledge will just have holes, some rather large and maybe important ones at that).

Or you can try and study/learn from the opposing clerics (and maybe adepts): Did you notice how this guy always presented this symbol of Gruumsh to cast spells? I wonder why the goblin shaman didn't do that?

Oh? I thought the situation was that you waited around to be raised, hoping demons didn't eat you.

Depends on when in Faerun your playing.

Time was, you got put in the wall around the city of the dead if you didn't worship a diety.
In all times and versions you had to wait for one of your dieties avatars to come pick you up. Demons are permitted to speak with the waiting souls and tempt them to join evilness (somepeople who are going to be going to a :):):):):):) place take the offer), and devils would randomly abduct souls at random and pluck people from the wall.
Then the whole kelemvor incident
I think he is/was tearing down the wall and re-assisinging souls and that anyone new who died without a diety lives in the city of the dead with his followers, but they are essentially mindless, whereas his followers are not.

I got most of this secondhand from being reading Realms novels.

You get a visitation by one of the Faerunian gods who say "Hey look I'm short a chosen. Why don't you take the job for a while?" ;)

There's that too but some devils also manage to have an agreement with Kelevmor. They take a few of the Faithless and False for their own needs, but only in small amounts. Or they trick souls into coming with them. (Eyerines are usually involved.) Being on the Fugue plane doesn't guarentee your ressurrection, merely the fact you have the chance before something bad happens, like getting stuck in the darn wall. :p :)

This rule is from the FR campaign setting book, somewhere near the beginning. I had a player who did not worship anyone and was most upset about not being able to be raised when the PC died, despite having been warned about it (I required it on the character sheet, he knew and it wasn't  ).

No deity = faithless.

FR goes completely against what having a whole pantheon is all about.

Taking a boat ride, appease the sea god; going on a hot date, appease the love goddess; tracking a deer, appease the hippy god.

The whole 'if you don't worship 1 and only 1 god = faithless' nonsense is stupid.

If a sailor who worships Tymora goes to sea, wouldn't that tick off the sea god person (that I can't remember the name of)?

You may worship other dieties. Theres nothing against that. Clerics of Ilmater must perform a ceremony where they get a dying/injured person to accept Ilmater in to their heart and he relieves their pain.

You must have a patron diety. Your big one. The one you listen to and follow above all else.

Of course there are exceptions (all evil dieties)
