For Real World usefullness, hands down it would be a Mirror of Mental Prowess. Without question.

Clairvoyance, teleportation (w/return), information.

"Honey, there's this great restaurant in Paris. Let's go for the evening"
I want to stand at the top of Mt. Everest for a few minutes...
Spend the day in Jamaica or the Caimans...sleep in my own bed.
Joining a gaming group 3000 miles away? No problem!
I wonder what the night life is like in.....Australia!
Has so-and-so shown up at location X yet?
I want to buy a super gizmo, but it's only available in Japan at the moment.
I wonder what the weather is like in outer mongolia.

Or for more nefarious purposes... (use your imagination) :]

Next best would be a Ring of Regeneration, the ultimate personal healer. Heck, that thing I would share! But not so much that it became public knowledge and the government decided to confiscate it...

Mirror of Mental Prowess. I'd love to scry on evertone I love and care for and make sure they are okay when I have not heard from them in a while. To be able to use it as a doorway to anywhere on Earth. I'd spend a good portion of my life scrying the depths of the oceans searching for Atlantis. Legend Lore ability? Too good to pass up. You can learn of anything, even government top secrets.

Oh, and I would try my hardest to never use it for nefarious purposes. I try to be a s truthful and honest as a human being can be.

Definitely Mirror of Mental Prowess, because nothing would make life more convenient than being able to travel any and everywhere. I'd have said Boots/Helm of Teleportation otherwise, but the Mirror has a lot of advantages over the other two.

Rings of wishes are certainly cool but there is a lot of baggage with them (especially if the evil GM interpreting your wishes watches a lot of Twilingt Zone) so I would just want to avoid that whole mess. I would probably go with the ring of invisibility - simple in its execution - or the Bucknard's Everfull Purse.

Oh wait. Did the Book of Erotic Fantasy have any magic items . . . ;)
