You have a Kaiju!

RenleyRenfield

Adventurer
Describe your Kaiju buddy (it's sentient-ish?) .. can be fantasy or sci fir or anything really...

- What special ability or talent do they have that helps you on your adventures? (that is not an attack)

- What did you do in order to befriend this Kaiju? (save? trials? oath? other other?)

I'll go first

1) Groler. Giant four legged rock-taur. Has massive arms and hands to lift anything and toss anything. It lifts gates, tosses me for miles (and i glide down safe), pushes over castle walls, and huddles over me to protect me in storms on the plains.

I feel like I'm in the auidence at an Oprah taping!

"Look under your seats! You have a kaiju! And you have a kaiju!"

My Oprah-given kaiju is called George. George isn't as large as most kaiju, standing a mere 30m high. They are a roughly humanoid being, with long, powerful forelimbs like an ape. Their rear limbs are like a quadraped's, ideal for running and springing.

George has amazing senses and can sniff out tasty food from kilometres away. George also has a long thick coat of hair, perfect for snuggling into in cold weather and easy to hang onto while riding.

Quetzlazul, The Serpent of the Sunstone, was sealed away after the empire’s fall, now awakened to reclaim its power. A giant feathered serpent (off course) with jade and gold scales. Amber eyes, and blue fire breath, yeah, BLUE.

His main powers are Solar Fire Breath: a destructive beam of solar energy; and Elemental Control: commands storms, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions.

Its magical glyphs can be destroyed only at night or during eclipses.

Godzilla and all of his varied forms.

He is mine because...for some odd reason...he loves me (like a pet Labrador loves someone).

He's smarter than a pet Lab though. He'll beat any other Kaiju out there. Go...Godzilla...go!

He's a big one...Mr. Godzilla...

How wacked out of a post can I make on this!?

The Sea-Wolf. A shapechanging Wolf and Walrus, both 20m at the shoulders
In walrus form, it's got passive sonar (big but sensitive whiskers), and a belch that can fell even the most stalwart of non-anosmic men. (Combination of sound, stench, and staring down the maw.)
In wolf form, it can move unhindered on any surface, and its bite can chop it in twain. Its hypnotic gaze can take down entire platoons (~50 men) at a glance. It also can scent mark a target (ranged attack from the loins) which both renders them smelly, soaked, and subject to full body diaper rash... if one survives the many normal wolves and coyotes that come to that scent mark. And it can lift tail and, with care, render tanks immobile in a pile of steaming carnivoran «bleep». (And that's stinky!)
Either form can casually crush bone, and can crunch into most light armored vehicles... Stryker beware!

Phil - a subterranean being of some kind. The suspicion is that Phil has adapted to the pressure of living beneath dirt and stone and would die its main body emerged to the surface. It appears to feed on energy, specificlally electricity and heat (in the form of lightning and lava)

No more than two of its massive limbs have ever been seen above ground and each was 30ft wide at ground level, each stretching a hundred feet and ending in a wide spatulate tip about ten feet across and five feet thick.
As appropriate for something that can force its way through stone, it has an armored hide. It is uncertain if it is scaled, made of rock, an exoskeleton or what amounts to massive callouses hardened and sharpened by the soil and rock. There are no suckers or a clearly defined "underside" so it is not a tentacle as such but it is covered in sensory nodules that are arranged in a fractal pattern. The nodules have a protective covering that can retract. They usually open in close along the fractal pattern, resulting in a "fireworks" effect across its hide.

Phil's limbs have been separated by as much as 200 ft at the base. The limbs can move quickly within that constraint (20mph). When Phil retracts its limbs beneath the surface it can move far faster, with a sustained speed of 60mph. There are odd ripples in ponds and rivers when Phil passes, and beings in towers feel a sway.

Phil can influnece the weather and summon storms, drawing electrical charges from the earth to cause corresponding charge build up in the air above. Phil gains nourishment from lightning and enjoys sculpting entire countrysides in abstract patterns only viaible from the air, using the rain water to help smooth the soil.

Phil established an empathic connection that provides a constant situational awareness of anything Phil can sense. This means I can sense buried rock, water, minerals, metals as well as above ground structures, the weather, snd very large moving things like big trucks or masses of people within around 2000ft. Phil can also cause a kind of earth wave that can move me at a speed of 30mph.

First, posting this for context:

A buddy of mine and I occasionally amuse ourselves by pitching bad movie ideas to each other*. They’re supposed to be so bad they should be flops- in a sense, echoing The Producers. This often happens when we eat dinner at restaurants.

I nearly killed him one night by pitching the story of a kaiju racoon. To ensure my film would be a flop, I gave the movie a name that conjured both notions of plagiarism AND would probably create boycotts because it sounds racist: King Coon.

Obviously, the multistory raccoon would still have all the attributes of its regular sized city cousins- curiosity, manual dexterity, and an interest in trash.

* my Mom and I do likewise with musicals when we’re on road trips together.

It began with a tremor, almost imperceptible, a subtle, vibrating hum as the ground quivered beneath my feet., a ripple in the fabric of reality. Then the tremors deepened, I fell prone, knocked to the ground, as a great, black shroud enveloped the horizon, twisting the sky and causing the stars to dim - and the whole world folded around its incomprehensible shape, its head broad and body hulking almost like a toad on outstretched limbs, its skin an iridescent black, slick and gleaming like the void between stars, its eyes huge and glowing like the inky depths of space where galaxies are born and die.

This was the Darkness, the very void of space made manifest, and the very concept of scale became meaningless in the impossible weight of its shadow. I was but a mote of dust before it and yet this vast and alien entity turned its gaze upon me, I felt its conciousness as both an ancient, inscrutable emptiness and a deep, searching curiosity.

There was no voice, no words, just an assertion of presence across the gulf between worlds. A feeling, an immense, unbearable curiosity, its mind, so ancient, and unknowable, wanted to learn - to understand. It wanted to know how something so small and insignificant could even comprehend the vastness of reality and in return it shared the tiniest portion of its own perception, just a fleeting glance lest my mortal mind be shattered.

And then the moment passed and as suddenly as it had come, the Darkness sank back into the rift it had emerged from. The sky folded back into place, the trembling ground stilled, and the air became thick with the absence of its existence. But even as the night resumed it stillness, The Darkness yet remained, still there, watching from beyond the edges - curious, searching, waiting ....
