Your D&D edition is not a football team

The only problem with having teams is we have no ref.

Or even rules.

It's an all out gangwar over what makes us happy, and it's sad.

Like, my problem with 4e has nothing to do with the system, just some of the people I know that play it that nearly ruined D&D for me (a game I've been playing since I was 7)

So after a decade of 3e, watching how 4e was made me think "well this is odd and not for me, but thats okay, when I call it dumb that is my view" and then those people came around and yeah.

The only team I am part of is Team Venture.
GO TEAM VENTURE!

As long as everyone remains reasonably civil it's fun to bicker and debate. Everyone wants the newest edition to be what they like. Why wouldn't they? So if I dislike more things in one edition than another I'm supposed to ignore that?

That's just silly. Everyone isn't going to lose anything. By being dishonest and neutral people stand to lose more than just saying "I hate how wizards function in 3.X" or "I hate how powers work in 4E". Going into detail just helps everyone understand each other more.

I've learned more about the pitfalls of 3E since joining ENworld than in the 10ish years before. I've given 4E more chances and more looks since joining ENworld also. Because everyone is critical about each others preferences. It just creates a more well rounded perspective.

5E will be the most fun to play for the most people if everyone is honest about why they like 'X' and why they dislike 'Y'. Being open to anything is not what wotc wants and it isn't what we want either.

edit: yeeeey go devilsssss.
