I'm partial to the Falchion. The base 18-20 critical range, augmented with the Keen enchantment and the Improved Critical feat, yields a critical threat on a 12-20...more effective than a Greatsword for high-damage fighter types.

The Scythe is cool too. I just happen to prefer more frequent crits to harder-hitting ones.

Either a Quarterstaff or dual-wielded Clubs. You can take them almost anywhere without raising suspicion, you never have to burn a feat for proficiency, and they're inexpensive.

The Quarterstaff is also the only non-ridiculous double weapon.

EDIT: Someone raised the idea of our real-life weapon preferences, and I thought that was a nifty idea. I tend to use weapons in pairs, preferring either light clubs or smaller blades. My favorite clubs are actually three-foot lengths of 3/4" PVC pipe, filled with cat litter or gravel, capped, and a wrapped duct-tape grips.

I'm neither Drow nor Ranger, but I am smooth and deadly with a scimitar in each hand. Err, was, anyway.

Falchions. I like the style of them, and they're great against low HD opponents when you've got spring attack and cleave.

Quarterstaff.

how'd that go? "Spin, parry, thrust*BOIINNG*!!"

Gotta luv it. :D

Actually, that went, "Ho, ha-ha, guard, turn, parry, dodge, spin, (THWAK)"!

I used it as my .sig for a while. :)

I've got three words for you:

Repeating Crossbow, baby!

(Although I still don't get how you aim the thing. It's got a big box in the way. I guess if you miss, you just fire again.)
