Grabbing someone is a standard action, so you must have at least this amount of time to anticipate events....
No. You want that to be so, it is not. The spell does not grant any alterations to the initative system. It is very usefull outside of combat, since you can grab your ally in front of you when he is about to step where he should not. But once the cycle of init is going, the spell has little effect other than it's numeric bonuses.

Allowing for an open ended ready, or being able to delay until something kicks off foresight is a fairly good way to operate the spell though. But that means the caster is not acting normally, a great cost at that level

Best bang for the buck in my opinion is the spell Undermaster, which you can find in the SC.

Basically, for four rounds after you cast it you can cast, as a standard action, another spell from the list presented in the spell. This list includes things like Flesh to Stone (and it's reverse), Reverse Gravity, Wall of Stone, and a few other things.

I've also been compiling a list of Druid spells, separated by spell school, here. It's got most of the FR books, the SC, the PH2, Complete Mage, and I think a few other sources.

I already stat out everything, but with shapechange, that's impossible: as I said, the fun of the spell seems to be that you can turn into anything

One trick is to only stat in detail those forms that require it, and only stat other forms as much as is needed.
