Your favorite class and race and other things.

Favorite combos are probably Elven Rogue or Dwarven Cleric.

For beginners I let them play what they want. We try to have a fairly friendly atmosphere for new players (Mainly because 4/5 of us are within two years of being back in the game).

Weapon combos for an elven rogue would tend towards two weapon fighting or archery depending on the mood I was in and the character's background. Shield and warhammer for the cleric.

Out of the Libris Mortis?
Are they more spells, or are they more like a fighter?
Kinda like a Mystic Theurge. It's a prestige class, of course, but you only need (I think) Clr3/Wiz3 to get it and can continue advancing in it for a looong time.

Favorite race: centaur, baby! Four on the floor! (As if you couldn't guess from my avatar.)
Second is probably lizardfolk: not the strong-but-stupid alligator-men from the MM, but fast, aglile, and smart - think Jurassic Park velociraptors with hands and weapons (the "tall grass" scene from JP II is THE iconic image, especially the leaping pounce).
In fact, if the DM will allow I almost always end up playing some sort of animal-themed critter - satyr, mermaid, shifter, druid... I guess this makes me a "furry" (though such labels are so imprecise). Of course, the way 3.x handles racial HD/ECL means they're almost always underpowered compared to a human, but I tend to go for "cool concept" over "maximum optimization" anyway.

In addition to animals, I enjoy hiking, camping, and nature in general, so favorite class is probably ranger. Druid comes in third: bard just edges it out for second place, as another RL love of mine is making up songs and stories (in fact, that's one of the things that got me into roleplaying in the first place). Rogue fourth, just 'cuz it's so flexible: you can be a stealthy thief, an acrobatic assassin, or a con-man "face guy" depending on your skill choices.

Best class for a beginner: Fighter is by far the simplest, I think, especially at first level when you've got only three (at most) feats to worry about.

Favorite race class- Elf or Human Fighter/Sorcerer. A good combo with a higher dex score to offset not using heavier armor, and magic to buff yourself.

For newer player I would definitely say a fighter, but if your in the right group just about anything can be easy.

My favorite weapon style it is either two-weapon fighting or two-handed weapon(not necessarily a greatsword).

My favorite race is half-orc barbarian. I enjoy all possible combinations, but "Throg SMASH!" is just so much fun.

I'ma go against the grain and say "elven mage" for best newbie character. My first character was one, and it worked out quite well. It helped that I'd had plenty of time to read the PHB in advance, though.

Favorite fighting style... hmmm... I'm rather fond of mounted combat, repeated charges with a lance (plus hoof attack) will wear most things down quickly and look good at the same time. For horseless encounters, I vote greataxe. Again with the "Throg SMASH!". However, halberds do look quite fun, I must admit. Reach, tripping capabilities, and set vs. charge all equals goodness to me.

1. Human Paladins, I like playing the good vrs. evil heroic type. After that Any Fighter with tactical types of feats.

2. Dwarven Fighter

3. Bastard sword and shield or bastard sword two-handed.

1. Human anything

2. I let them play anything, but if they want to keep it a little simple I would recomend a
fighter or barbarian.

3. Two weapon fighting in theory, just too many feats to blow on it without enough benefit
in my opinion.

1 what is your favorite combination in class and race?
Restricting myself to the core rules, I would say a human fighter. No, really.

2 what would you suggest for new players to be?
I'd suggest a rogue because they partake of most of the game mechanics but don't require much bookkeeping (as a caster, even a sorcerer, does), and they typically get to roll both attacks and skill checks quite often. They're a good way for a new player to learn the system without being completely overwhelmed - I've noticed that players who begin with fighters or barbarians can sometimes end up playing robotically, which doesn't help them take advantage of the options available.

With a rogue, your fellow players can teach you about skill checks, combat positioning to get sneak attacks, and so on.

3 what is your favorite fighting style/weapon?
I don't have a particular preference.
