Todd Lockwood
Claudio Pozas

I use art from these guys all the time for my PCs.

Newer? Define newer. Lockwood, for one, has been around. His 2e black and white of Jarlaxle is still the best image of that NPC.

Wayne Reynolds

Tallon Dunning

Eric Lofgren

Ron Spencer (I remember his stuff from the Deadlands days)

Tim Bradstreet (For that gritty urban look)

Ciruelo Cabral

And the classics:

Larry Elmore

Erol Otus

Bill Willingham

Jeff Dee

Clyde Caudwell

I have an equally long list of artists whom I absolutely can not STAND, but that's why they call it "art".

"Newer" = "didn't illustrate 1E", in this case. :)

As far as Lockwood and 2E, I had drifted away from 2E, and if I saw any of Todd's work before 3E, I didn't recognize his name.

OTOH, I saw Jeff Easley at the Bristol Renaissance Faire (just down the road from Lake Geneva) last summer, had a really nice talk with him, and bought a signed print from him for a song.

Of artists currently working on RPGs:

Wayne Reynolds (as far as I'm concerned, THE D&D artist of the present)
Justin Sweet
William O'Connor
Jim Holloway
Erol Otus (I buy new stuff just based on his cover art!)
Jeremy Jarvis (an acquired taste, but I've grown to really dig his work)
Sam Wood

I'm sure I'll think of someone else that'll make me slap my forehead and say "D'oh! How could I forget them!"
