My favorite character has duplicates that exist in no less than three separate campaign worlds, so I could probably talk the DM into letting one of his students quest to "find him" and "bring him back". If, that is, he got "taken out" at all - this is Darboz the Evoker, after all! Eh... things in the real world come and go as well. Most of the stuff I own or have owned hasn't lasted as long as some of the characters we're talking about.
