Your favourite non-D&D game?

HERO is amazing... but... hmmm... this is a tough question. I have been constantly impressed by Legend of the 5 Rings. I'll go with L5R this time. Don't quote me on this later though, my mind will surely have changed.

I have only gotten to PLAY one session of it so far, but I think Dungeon World will be my non-dnd goto game at this point. We've always been pretty much only a dnd group, though...

FATE, for me. The new FATE Core book is simply awesome, although it wouldn't appeal to everyone I wouldn't think. It focuses more on the small-n narrative, so most heavy sim lovers will chafe.

I'm very keen to try DungeonWorld, even have a copy. Since I haven't, I can't really say I recommend it.

One special case: GUMSHOE for investigation games.

You know I think an awesome game could be assembled by stealing nuggets from those three games, Burning Wheel, and Fiasco.

This changes on a more or less constant basis, as I don't have the opportunity to play a lot of (different) games.

Currently it would be Song of Ice and Fire - Game of Thrones Edition, which I have just started a campaign with.

An all-time favourite I'd love to play and run a lot is Earthdawn.

But the absolute favourite, probably never to be topped, remains Call of Cthulhu.

At the moment it is Dungeon World, but it changes continuously!

But the two games that calls me all the time are Advanced Fighting Fantasy 2 Ed (like many Brits/Kiwi/Ockers my first sort of fantasy gaming was from the FF Books) and Dragon Warriors (which was the first RPG I purchased, although I only got books 2 to 5 initially so I went to BECMI soon after!)

LBB Traveller. And my favorite game just to read has always been Shadowrun. I've been meaning to try Savage Worlds for some time now, this thread makes me think I should get to it.

Star Wars Saga Edition.

If that's too close to D&D, then either Serenity or Black Crusade. In both cases, more for the setting than the mechanics which are, frankly, not very good.
