I agree that this is a much better poll than the last one. However, the percentage of people wishing to remove Poly from Dungeon is currently at only 34.21%. Hardly the majority.

But as I stated before, the matter is settled. Erik Mona has already said that further discussion of dropping Poly will not be entertained. The possibility is not on the table.

I wonder if its possible to add threads about Poly to B.A.T.G.N.O.M.E.

I consider myself a fan of D&D, not of d20 unto itself, so I'm part of the bias referred to, but it's not uncommon to note people here who seem to be equally-or-more about d20 the system than D&D the game. I think d20 has many allies here...more than Dragonsfoot anyway. :)
I'd be one of those guys you're referring to there! ;)

where is the: I used to like the Dungeon content and want to see Poly removed.

i liked Dungeon upto about issue 80.

i used to like Poly too. but not since the 1980's.

but i still think they shouldn't be together. ever.

I like 'em both - quite a bit. I prefer Poly much more than I used to the way it is with the newest issue, though - with some Living Greyhawk support, a bit of Star Wars... it's the minigames that get to me, I think. While they've been universally well done, I like []iPolyhedron[/i] better when it's more varied, a sort of Dragon for d20 in general. This isn't to say that I don't want to ever see the mini-games, just... not every issue. The two or three a year mentioned in the other thread is just fine with me. :)

Oh, and I always like Dungeon. Come to think of it, I've been meaning to subscribe for a while, and I can now. I think I will! :)

I buy Dungehedron for Dungeon, not Poly.

However, Poly *could* be useful to me if it stuck with more easily-insertable-into-D&D mini-games (Incursion, Spelljammer). Poly definitely has potential...

Oh, and more maps! (Those modern Global Positioning maps are great.)

Dungeon only please. I can deal with Poly, but it is a load of wasted space for someone wanting to mine it for adventures, especially with WOTC not publishing any.

If anything, Poly should be severely reduced to fit more adventures into the magazine. 6 issues of Poly is a killer and I just cannot subscribe the current prices when only half the material is useful.

Well, thus far if this poll were of microcosm of the Dungeon subscriber base, Paizo would actually have 14.2% more subscribers by not bundling the two magazines. They lose 21 subscribers of the sample by bundling Poly, but they lose only 11 subscribers of the sample by not bundling Poly. They could even compensate for this by offering a price break for people that subscribe to both magazines if they were non-bundled. This is called price bundling as opposed to product bundling.

Moreover, if any d20 company were to decide to put out their own version of an "D&D adventure" magazine to compete with Dungeon then the magazine would likely be a lot more susceptible than at any point in its history to losing market share. If such competition were of the same quality the bundled Dungeon/Poly would likely lose subscribers from both the "like Dungeon don't like Poly crowd" and the "like Dungeon indifferent to Poly crowd" since they would get more adventures per dollar. Of course, this is not taking into consideration brand loyalty and cost structure, but for any company it is worth considering how your strategy may affect barriers to entry and such.

Of course, I'm waiting to hear all those "this isn't a valid sample" comments. However, short of doing Paizo's market research for them,... what is a valid sample? All ears for better suggestions.

The *only* valid sample is to do, as you say right above, "Paizo's market research for them". Sorry, dude.

The only consolation you have is that, of ENWorlders who care to answer polls and care about this poll, that Poly is no where near as popular as Dungeon.

You can get FREE Original Adventures on Wizards' web sites. Also, don't limit yourself to just Wizards' products, when other publishers are willing to offer their adventures compatible with d20 fantasy games, such as D&D.
