The Player's Handbook when I was 10 or 11 years old. My cousin (who is two years older than I am) ran an ongoing campaign with my PC and two NPC's he controlled. Shortly after we began gaming, his family moved to Texas and I received the MM and DMG as gifts so that I could run a game for my friends.
