What would your most important post-it-note one-sentence advice or reminder to a DM to keep in mind during play? If you had one reminder or see of advice, a short sentence, to put on a post-it-note.

"Don't forget to give out inspiration" might be mine.

Ha! That is exactly what I was going to say too!

Similar to many others - give over the game to the players' stories. Provide opportunities and expect to improvise. For a high-prep DM like me this is a good reminder. Prep is always useful, but a lot of times not for the session I prepped it for!

Don't forget the NPC's, in both combat and social situations.

4. Restart from 1!

If your players are having fun, whatever you're doing is working.

Folks fixate on rules, or lore, or worldbuilding... none of that really matters much if the players aren't having a good time.
