Your unused character ideas?

That's good.... his cohort could be the human.

I love the idea of awakened creatures. I would love to play an awakened dog with psionic powers that he keeps completely secret, maybe using telepathic powers to control someone who he pretends is his "master". Living spells, from the Eberron campaign, are fascinating, too. An awakened living Bigby's hand spell would be like Thing T. Thing on steroids. An awakened telekinesis spell would be an invisible force that could make the air tremble to speak, fly anywhere, and turn any object into a deadly missile. An awakened fireball would be a rolling storm of burning destruction bent on conquest that enjoyed roasting marshmallows...

The more we learn about what can be done with sound waves, the more I want to make a PC based on pseudoscientific extrapolations of those technologies:

I've made several over the years, but never played one.

Psionic manipulation of sound through telekinesis could simulate this. Start with Control Sound and go on from there...

Oh, I can figure out the mechanics- it's getting into a campaign in which such a PC would be appropriate & allowed. PLUS it would have to beat out all the other concepts I'd have that could work in such a campaign.

Always wanted to do an evil spellcaster who'd transformed his cojoined undead twin into his familiar.
Perhaps amazingly I've never played the nigh-sterotypical kleptomaniac halfling rogue.

Dude, that's wicked dope. Would it be like a little fetus hanging off of you, or would it be a full-grown zombie attached to you?

I envisioned it being a half-formed face on the back of his own head, or a 'hump' that was actually the quasi-melted-looking baby-sized thing attached to his back.

One concept I got to use so little that I consider it 'un-used' was formed by a buddy of mine. We were going to be playing in a 70's themed oWOD Mage game, and I was having a tough time coming up with a really viable concept for some reason. Then in the course of an unrelated conversation, my buddy says something along the lines of 'As long as he wasn't a gay communist Muslim Jew', and that immediately became the basis for my character.

For years, I have wanted to do an aged warrior who is picking up the accouterments of war one last time, a glory ride, if you will, for a just cause.

I've written it up in D&D as a Ftr, Rgr, Brb and Paladin, with a variety of reasons as to why this "veteran" is mechanically low level. In some write-ups, the warrior is merely quite old, in others, dissolute living has left him or her a shell of the former stalwart. In each case, skills have atrophied, talents diminished, and powers have been forgotten. As the party adventures, the rust is shaken off and those abilities "resurface."

Some incarnations go a bit Quixotic, with the warrior having a sidekick who- hopefully NATURALLY in the course of the adventuring- begins to emulate his master, and gets to take over his mantle & quest when the mentor ultimately fails.

But ya gotsta have the right GM & campaign for that...
