Your WotC spending: More on Minis or Books?

Describe your WotC spending for the last 6 months:

  • I spent more on WotC RPG Books than WotC Miniatures

    Votes: 150 57.7%
  • I spent about the same on WotC RPG Books and Miniatures

    Votes: 14 5.4%
  • I spent more on WotC Miniatures than on WotC Books

    Votes: 66 25.4%
  • I didn't buy any WotC Minis or RPG books in the last 6 months.

    Votes: 30 11.5%

I've spent more on books than minis but that's because I know that once I start on the minis I won't be able to stop. I figure if this poll comes up again next year my answer will be very different.

god, i spend at least 10 times as much on minis as i do on wotc books. last year i bought the Dragonlance campaign setting, the mini handbook, complete warrior, draconomicon, vile darkness, and the 3.5 stuff. this upcoming year, i only see myself getting the other three completes, and maybe the ebberon core book, whereas i will buy thousands of minis =-)

Spend time and money buying metal miniatures and painting them? I've got far better things to do than that!

Cheers!

My sentiments exactly, especially since my painting skills are pathetic.

In a way, though, I do envy those who have been able to avoid the minis all together. I find that I am *really* looking forward to the next set (Giants of Legend) and the one after that (Aberrations), even though I really shouldn't be spending the money on them.

Had I not gotten into the minis, I'd be up about US$400 at this point.

You'd have just found something else to spend the money on. :)

I enjoy collectible games. I've spent a huge amount of money on Magic over the past ten years and a bit, and on other ccgs and cmgs as well.

I enjoy the skirmish game of the D&D Miniatures, and it's a change to have my collectible hobby also be useful in my main love: the D&D RPG.

Cheers!

Haven't bought a single mini, and do not plan on it. I have some metal and plastic minis from various sources (old D&D boxed sets, Heroquest, GW boxed set), and the rest of my needs are filled with Firery Dragon and Dragonscale counters, and the old Steve Jackson cardboard stand-ups.

I probably would buy like 20 orcs or goblins off of ebay, if I got them dirt cheap, but I don't look for them.

I will be buying the Gold Collection from Firery Dragon.

True - and it probably would have been more d20 books. Then I could have changed my answer on this poll. :)

I get more use out of my miniatures than most of my d20 supplements.

Cheers!

Easy question. I've never brought a mini, although I had received a few of them as gifts. None from the current WotC line though.

I have spent more on miniatures than on WotC RPG supplements over the last 6 months, but none of it has been on WotC miniatures.

I enjoy painting my own, prefer knowing what I am getting beforehand, and frankly I really don't like a good many of the figures themselves.

While there are exceptions they are exceptions, and for the price of buying most of the singles that I actually like I could buy a metal miniature and enjoy painting it into the bargain.

The Auld Grump, doing his best to keep Reaper miniatures in the black...

More on books than miniatures...

Of course, I only buy books with Open Content in them and I never buy miniatures, so it's safe to say WotC barely gets any money from me.
