You're approached by a Hollywood exec...

I think I'd prefer someone throwing money at getting the pro-shot versions of the stage shows released, but I understand the desire, and expect that getting adaptations made would be strangely easier.
It's very hard to think of Broadway/off-Broadway musicals which were improved by Hollywood adaption,

I don't necessarily disagree with y'all here, but I'll stick with going with the Hollywood-ified versions of the plays for a couple reasons.

First, I'll admit bad adaptations of plays are common, and much is often lost in translation. But the flip side is that when adaptations are done well they can give of some of the best cinema every made. On the musical side, you're looking at classics like The Sound of Music, West Side Story, and Little Shop of Horrors. On the non-musical side, you have the likes of 12 Angry Men, Amadeus, or A Few Good Men. All great examples where the filmmakers took a few liberties when adapting the plays and it really, really paid off as a masterpiece in a different medium.

Also, there's an unfortunate reality that filming the shows may not be feasible. In some cases, the play simply isn't being performed anymore, and recreating the magic of the original cast/venue/etc simply won't give the results you're looking for. Sometimes when the fire dies you have to start over again. Also, some of the more off-Broadway stuff here (e.g. Firewalker, Last Starfighter) really wasn't the grade of production that would benefit from that treatment; a glow up is due.

And, most importantly, the premise of the thread was that we have unlimited funding from a "Hollywood exec". Now, if it was a Netflix exec or some other media mogul, I'd think more about my options. But we're going full Hollywood, baby! Time to go full in on what the movie industry can do.

What I'd love to see is an animated take on Six of Crows that's more faithful to the material than the Shadow & Bone TV show was

Yes, I've seen them. Or, at least the first one. The question explicitly refers to adaptations that weren't successful, and given that Gor was kind of a direct to video chump that hardly anyone knows about, I think it qualifies.
