Well I always knew the people that played D&D were a creative and imaginative bunch. I guess this time we all just imagined this community or maybe it has all been some sort of grand illusion.
Now that it has been pointed out what bonus do I get to my disbelieve EN check?
Oh, wait... Excalibur flashbacks.... Ohh, Excalibur.... mmm... one of my favorite movies.
Wow I thought my dream life was... oh never mind... I do enjoy hanging around here way to much, my friends say I couldn't live without coming here everyday.
It's always interesting to hear what others do in their real life ... I never thought about Arcady in Lederhosen...
Morrus: Reminds me of the story when I moved into my new appartement... phone companies suck. I got the phone installed at once (well ok, it took only 1 month) and they told me I will soon get a letter with my number. Hmm. After four weeks I had to pay my fees. No idea about my number. I phoned them and talked to a nice girl with no clue on the other end who told me yes, she sees my number on the screen but no she is not allowed to tell me since I could have broken into that appartement and be not allowed to get the number.
I told her that if I would have done that I wouldn't care about the phone number of someone whose appartement I just robbed... Especially if that number will soon appear in the new phone book. Well. She didn't tell me but promised that I will get that letter and could always call the directory assistance. I told her I am not going to do that since it's expensive and I already paid for my new number.
Well.. That letter with my number came 8 months later. I got my number from a friend who had called the dir. assist. a few days later.
As I work with people like you discuss, I know your pain.
The Customer Support Center where I work believes the number of calls answered is more important than the content, they call it their metric. The longer you stay on the line with them, the more you cut into that metric and their performance!
