Legend
I'm considering converting Zeitgeist into 13th Age to try running - and one part of the setting that needs some sort of representation in any conversion are the icons. The icons in the default 13th Age setting are here.
But to explain further (or possibly confuse the matter completely), the Icons are the answer to the "Fourth Babylon 5 Question" - "Who do you serve, and who do you trust?"* and relationships with icons (you start with three points worth) can be positive, negative, or conflicted. And you can make a roll with your icon stat when you think it's relevant. (A negative relationship with an icon gets you help from the enemies of that icon - a crusader against the Lich King would have negative reputation with the Lich King and use that to ask for help against the Lich King).
Icons are representations as much as people (for instance no one can get near the Gold Dragon, fighting to keep the Abyss at bay - but it's the obvious icon for classic Paladins) and sometimes the specific person doesn't matter anyway ("The King is Dead, Long Live the King.").
So who/what would icons in Zeitgeist be? I can get as far as:
1: The King
2: The Chief Constable (needs a better name)
3: Vekesh (mostly Elves)
4: The Eschaton (mosty Dwarves)
5: The Skyseer (and yes, the current Icon is the Dying Skyseer).
6: Le Roye
7: The High Priest
8: Jierre (needs a better name - The University?)
9: The Shadow Thief (who knows who he is?)
10: Mammon
Any more? And there are some secret ones? But this isn't about physical alignment so much as ideology. (What I'm missing, I think, are the evil ones if there are any).
* The main three are "Who are you?", "What do you want?", and "Where are you going?"
