I checked it out. Very cool!

Keep up the great work man! This is an awesome series of tutorials. I hope you continue to do them.

Thanks! I was afraid at first that I wouldn't be able to fill 10 minutes each week for very long. As it turns out, it's harder to squeeze in everything I want to talk about into that time than I ever thought it would be! So I shouldn't have any trouble keeping it going for awhile.

I'm definately interested to see how you did the city. Though, from viewing the first 4 I_think_I know :)

Or at least I could guess.

Well, if you want to know how I did the buildings in the original, it's not terribly exciting. I just drew them in with a brush! :p

But I do have a nifty trick to show off that's a heck of a lot easier. But that's still... Oh, at least three or four weeks away. Next week will be coloring. After that, adding the water will take at least an episode, but more likely two (but it's a darn cool technique that you can use for a LOT of things). Then the roads and buildings will be one or two episodes. Then two or three episodes of finishing touches.

Whew! That's got my next couple of months worth of podcasts covered before I start on another map.

I was thinking it was a brush :)

Keep 'em coming!

:D The buildings were the last major element I put in when I was working on the original, and at that point I wasn't really trying to come up with any new or exciting techniques at that point... it was getting pretty late and I was darn tired!

But the technique I'm going to show in the podcast is the same one I used to create the buildings in this map, with a little finishing touch to keep them from looking so precise.
