Zombies and Crooks (DM:Mal Malenkirk Judge: Covaithe )

[sblock=Another DM errata - Matlal & Jarel]
Damn it, I apologize. I was really doing last turn too fast. Last turn, you will note that I wrote that Z4 grabbed Jarel. Of course, it's not Jarel but Matal that the zombie must have been grabbing. He's the one he was adjacent too!

That being said, I am slightly miffed that Velmont handily ignored the fact that I wrote his character was grabbed. As it turns out, he wasn't, but I would have liked at least a little protest, It would have showed you read what I write! :p

I updated the status to show that Matlal had been grabbed but, given the collossal screw up that this round turned out to be for me, I will just assume that Matlal succeeded an athletic check, which would have allowed him to escape the grab and shift, making the turn legal with no more retcon.

I apologize, I am not normally so scatterbrained in my updates.

That being said, I expect Jarel meant he moved to J4 because J3 is occupied by the Spider Zombie.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Ok, completly miss that. After 90 hours at the job in 10 days, I have been the a bit too fast for the few brain cells that remains in my head... I'll try to be a bit more aware of it.

Yeah, J4... sorry for that too. Ok, I go in my bed. It's past midnight now.[/SBLOCK]

[sblock]Andrec hasn't posted since the 14th so I ran him[/sblock]

Andrec and Tor climbs up their respective rope. Tor handily reaches the morgue's floor but Andrec's schoolyard's nightmare come back to haunt him as he struggles to keep up.

Jarec sends two bolts of necrotic energy toward Matlal and Jarel but they shrug off the cold pain without a whimper.

-''Oh, for the love of Lauto! Won't you die already.'' the necromancer exclaims in frustration.

The spider zombie is a bit better at effecting the necromancer's wishes and his claw nearly takes Jarel's head off but the swordmage puts up his magic shield at the last minute and deflects the blow. The spider zombie then scampers up the wall like a... well... spider. He moves up and over the table and then jumps back down and rushes Montroya, cornering him.

The last zombie is ineffective against Matlal and the barbarian easily dodges him.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Hey, by the way it's been 3 rounds that Z4 have ongoing 5 thunder damage affecting him. I havn't seen any single damage done to him by the ongoing damage and no save... (I should have seen that earlier) :( [/SBLOCK]

[sblock=Jarel]True. I added 10 extra damage to Z4 (1st save failed, second succeeded)
2nd save
1d20=15

[sblock=Andrec]I understand your frustration, but I think 4 days was enough delay before running a PC. In the opening posts I said I would run a PC somewhere in the third day of inactivity.

I have to balance the needs of one with the needs of the whole group.

Mesa watched the other two make their way up the ropes and gripped the one in his hands tightly. Just like climbing in the forests back home. Grinning, he pulled hard to get his body off the ground. The rope, so sure in his grip a moment before, turned slippery from the sewer moisture, the ichor of bodies being moved around it, and the sweat on his hands, and Mesa slid back to the bottom. "Bloody hell..."

Wiping his hands off, Mesa growled under his breath. His grin was gone as he pulled hard on the rope. Hand over hand, he quickly moved up the rope and at the top he released it, his hands moving to slap on the floor and piston him into the room. It was a move he'd done in the trees a million times. But trees have bark and branches, things to grip. The floor of the morgue had none of that; instead, it was the smoothness of worked stone and slick with the ichor of the battle above.

For a brief moment, Mesa could see the fight raging. Andrec stood tall next to the hole, while not far away a very frustrated-looking man had his hands raised towards the others. Matial faced off against a zombie, and it looked like another was fighting Montroya...

The floor cut off any further view he had, as his chin slammed down against it. He tasted blood as his body fell back into the empty air. Time slowed, and he realized two things. One, he had just come very, very close to biting off his own tongue. Two, this was going to hurt. He reached the ground, and time reasserted itself. He landed on his back, his head cracking painfully against the ground.

He rolled on his side, spitting a bit of blood out. "Of all the dull-headed, thin-blooded things to do..." He groaned, trying to stop the sewer from spinning. Surely it wasn't doing that before?

After dodging the undead's last attack Matlal deftly sweeps his spear cleanly across the corpse's torso, felling the fiend and striking out whatever magics held it in the caricature of life. Spurred on by his first kill in this encounter, he twists around and rushes to Montroya's aid, however his spear only manages to connect with empty air against the deceitfully agile zombie.

"Ja migh' as well gwan' be still so we get dis ova wit' quick." He doesn't think it heard him.
