  • Rumors and stories of lost heirs to noble families are nothing new in the Forest Kingdom. Yet news emanating from The Royal Court has given rise to the story of one lost heir that may yet prove true.

The story was passed from senior chamberjacks to chambermaids and onward to the clerks of the stairs and then to the doorjacks, who all carried it with them out of The Royal Court at the end of their day's work. Sunset saw folk living in different parts of Suzail begin to learn something of the woman with a tattooed face who road a bay horse to The Royal Court and waited patiently to conduct business before the Queen herself.

The woman, who introduced herself in heavily accented common as Amafrey, produced an ornamented crown of rank which she claimed belonged to her grandfather, Tarius Halaunt. Alongside the crown she gave court officials a scroll case that showed the Halaunt family lineage as it existed, astonishingly, in the lands well to the north of Neverwinter along the Spine of the World.

The only known living member of House Halaunt, one Sardasper Halaunt, is a noble of poor standing at court and a deadly reputation among adventurers (they know him for his willingness to spend their lives to eliminate rivals from other lands whom he suspects of trying to steal the Halaunt family fortune for themselves).

For her part, Amafrey is said to have explained she is the last of the Halaunts from the far north. According to her, all the others are dead.

At the behest of the Queen, Amafrey remains a guest of the Crown. Elsewhere in Suzail, folk have begun to wonder if Sardasper will hire yet more adventurers to dispose of this latest "threat."
