"Next ye need attribute scores; the way we size ye up with numbers. Ye have three attributes: Physical, Mental, an' Metaphysical, or P, M, and MP fer short. Each attribute helps ye do things related to that attribute, and each one measures yer toughness in that respect. So decide which is your strong attribute. Tha' one gets a score of twelve. Yer weak attribute gets eight, and the middle attribute gets ten."
Assign a score to each of your attributes: 12, 10, or 8.
"Yer score tells ye what yer bonus is, too." Trek looks up and away, thinking hard. "Let me get this right . . . each bonus is one-quarter of the score, rounded down. Does tha' make sense? Just write +3 for yer good attribute bonus, and +2 for the others."
