The Monster ENCyclopedia is a series of articles about specific monsters from D&D's history by Echohawk. Each entry takes a look at the origins of one D&D creature, and tracks its appearances and evolution across different editions.
A-Z tour
These monsters were covered as part of an alphabetical tour of D&D creatures, from July 2014 through to January 2023 (so far). Many of the earlier entries were expanded and revised between 2020 and 2024.

Trickster Gods of Omu
These nine monsters were initially part of a special edition of the Monster Encyclopedia in September 2017, covering the nine gods of Omu as detailed in Tomb of Annihilation. In 2021, the special edition was split up into nine stand-alone entries, each one expanded and updated from the original.
