OOC: Wow, we sure burned through those quick! And haven't made any new money to be able to buy another one yet. I know Phoenix is tapped out financially. She used it all on her armor and such back in Orrussus. So I'll have her use a couple of her healing potions for now.

2 Cure Light Wounds potions (1d8+1=8, 1d8+1=2)

So 10 HP's back puts her at 40/50. That'll do for now, I guess.

The dwarf limps along slumped a bit. A few twists and turns, a pause to ensure no surprises crossing an open area. The dwarf seems more cautious and you get the feeling he is hurt badly.

Finally...a crooked stone pier juts hundreds of feet out into the moist darkness, lit occassionally along its length by a few lanterns. Tiny waves lap at the sides of the pier, and dozens of decrepit watercraft tethered along the wharfs length. A boat farther out along the dock seems to ride higher than the rest of the craft. It's just beyond a stone shack.

The dwarf speaks pointing to the seaworthy craft. That be your boat if you can get it. A faint smile and he turns away back into the alleys.

Rowan gazes out over the water. Can he see the island with the blue glow? If so, how far does it seem? Is the water calm?

"That stinker buggered off. He was supposed to assist us in acquiring a boat. Maybe that's just what he did." says Rowan. "We have to spend some more of our small change to rent that thing. Or we could just get in and take off. Do either of you know much about boats?"

"Just what we picked up on board the ship getting from Orrussus to the island. He said 'if we can get it' though. My guess is there is someone or something in that shack near the boat who owns it. And maybe they don't like visitors. Or maybe more critters in the water. Only one way to find out though since we need to use that boat." Phoenix says as she checks her gear before striding forward towards the pier.

Lookspring eyes the dwarf appraisingly, seeing easy pickings and wondering how much he had been paid. He nudges Phoenix and says quietly. "If we were being attacked when we were 4, that one will not be making it back alive. We should be saving someone else the trouble... It is possible he is being heavy with coin. I can be taking care of it if you like." Glancing out at the dock he shudders a bit at the thought of crossing yet another body of water in yet a smaller boat. He waits to see if Phoenix will go along with his suggestion before following them.

Phoenix votes for going to the boat and letting the dwarf go. "He'll get what's coming to him eventually. Let's just get on with what we gotta do." she tells Lookspring.

As the group turns toward the boat and begins moving down the dock a lone duergar steps out of the shack to confront the group. What business do you surface dwellers have here? The guard is dressed in studded leather armor with short sword in scabbard on hip.

Piping up, Lookspring says "We are being in the business of sailing. We are being told that a boat is available. That boat. We will be using it to cross the waters." he points at the half-way decent boat on the dock.
