A chaotic melee ensues. The monkey on the other side of the pool gives a surprised “Eek!” as an unseen force yanks him into the water and a psychic attack from Shale batters him and one of his companions. They are unaffected, however. Perhaps their minds are too strong (or too weak?) Brenwar leaps heroically into battle, swinging his mighty hammer at one of the creatures, but it dodges just out of the way... not noticing Kavac coming in as well with gleaming fullblade falling in a killing arc. The monkey leaps to the side with a shallow cut. Sputtering and wiping their eyes, Shrakk blindly adopts a defensive posture while Karma spins around hurling a psychic attack into the trees. A shriek is heard, signaling he may have hit something.

The creatures retaliate. They leap and swing through the trees with amazing grace and ease, uninhibited by the terrain. The submerged monkey crawls out of the water next to Brenwar and leaving himself open for attack, but Brenwar's hammer once again just strikes soft earth and the monkey batters his armor uselessly with its paws. Shale manages to stave off a similar attack while he clears his vision. Kavac, Shrakk and Karma are all pounced upon by the animals as they slap, rip and bite, leaving grievous bleeding wounds.

[sblock=Player Actions]Shale: Slides Mandrill F13 to F12. Dishearten on E12; Misses with both attacks.
Brenwar: Misses with charge, shifts to E11
Kavac: Charges Mandrill D11; hits! 8 damage.

Karma: Attacks H1 with dishearten; hits! 13 damage.[/sblock]

[sblock=Terrain]The trees are difficult terrain, but also light concealment.
The highlighted lime green area is difficult terrain okay!?[/sblock]
[sblock=Brenwar]You shifted into difficult terrain, I'll let it "slide" this time. Ho ho![/sblock]
[sblock=Karma]You don't need to spend a move action to turn around, you are all assumed to have 360 degree vision. Also I rolled your damage for you. Good job.[/sblock]
[sblock=Kavac]That's the worst damage I've ever seen a barbarian do.[/sblock]

Player Turn Go!

Someone

Adventurer
Reluctantly, Shale is forced to admit that these may not be humanoids but animals when he clearly sees they also "painted" bright red their asses. Dedicating no more thought to that, he gathers his strenght and discorporates into a multitude of fragments, reforming somewhere in the trees and leaving behind a very surprised monkey. From that position moves to the other side of the pond and tries to telekinetically catch the monkey that attacked him and give him a bath too, but the fanged bugger is too fast and the force net only catches air.

[sblock=ooc:]Starting to spend resources here. I use my Shard Swarm enconter power, which gives me combat advantage against F9 monkey and teleport 3 squares to C12 (move), then use my standard action to as a move to move through C13, E14-G14, which should be my 6 squares. Then use my action point to manifest Kinetic Thawl on F9, spending 1 power point on augmenting, but fail miserably rolling a stupid 2. A shame, since that would have pulled another monkey into the pool.

Notice that thanks to the Warding shard swarm feat, my defenses increase by 2 until the end of my next round.[/sblock]

Kavac easily shakes the monkey from his back but it's claw dig deep into Kavac's flesh. He starts to look a little unsteady on his feet and his wild swing barely misses the monkey he had just thrown to the ground. You can see that his breathing is heavy and that the wounds on his back are starting to bleed freely.

[sblock=Kavac's Stats and Actions]
Move: Shift to D13. Escape: 1d20+10=26.

[sblock=Llama_Bill]Sorry, you can't take 10 on checks in combat either. You'll normally have to roll to see if you pry the monkey loose. If you succeed you can still shift.[/sblock]

I thought you escaped any grabs if you moved away without using a move action?
[/sblock]

[sblock=Eh?]No, that doesn't make sense. Being grabbed immobilizes you. You can't move at all unless it's a teleport, even if you use a power like pressing strike. What you may do is use your move action to try and escape, (roll athletics against fort or acrobatics against reflex). If you successfully escape you get a free shift, though.

So in this situation, if you succeed on your check, you could shift to D11 then pressing strike to D13. (E13 is Difficult Terrain, it costs 1 extra movement per square.)[/sblock]

Karma in his weakened state seems to struggle as the ape grabs him. Nonetheless he plunges the psionically charged fist into the prim-ape. The monkey flies back from the impact of the blow, and Karma retreats back behind his colleague casting a quick healing prayer to counteract his injuries. But he seems to be nearing the end of his tether.

[sblock=ooc]
Standard Action: force punch monkey, minor action heal myself with healing word. Negating the damage from ongoing damage remaining on 6.

Roll Lookup 6 for saving throw against ongoing damage.

If force punch knocks monkey of me shift back a square to G6.

Force Punch
Roll Lookup
14+4-2 = 16
if hits: Roll Lookup 8+4 = 12 damage

We know the monkey's defences so you can tell if that hit. As you are targeting fort you hit.
