I'm with you. If the Cavalier is anything like the version 2 I not only am unimpressed, I actively dislike it as bloat and should be rolled into the battlemaster. Horizon Master fits a limited selection of campaigns. Circle of Dreams didn't leave enough of an impression to comment on.

It's nothing like version 2, they have said it no longer has suppiority dice.

I'd be very surprised if the Bladesinger didn't make the cut, as it's probably the most popular subclass not in the core rulebook. It's comfortably ahead of the Swashbuckler in popularity, and THAT subclass is probably the second-most popular non-core subclass.
Not coincidentally the Bladesinger is one of the few new subclasses that add real utility.

That actually makes me happier about it, thanks for the information. It seemed like it was adding a few new superiority dice uses (which I'd rather just add to the battlemaster), some should-be-mounted features but with nothing to ensure a level-appropriate mount (which means it's not available in many AL or store games) finishing up with a scattering of not-to-memorable features. As a concept I like it; now I have hope for it mechanically as well.

The origins of the Sun Soul predate its "Goku" manifestation in 5e.

Yeah, while I really liked the mechanics of the Horizon Walker, I feel they really needed a fluff rewrite to make them feel more accessible in a campaign. It is weird that their identity is so heavily entwined with the high-level ability of planar travel; they're horizon walkers, not planeswalkers.

Horizon Walkers (in previous editions lore) have always being about traversing the planes. In 3rd edition I believe they got different features based on which plane was their favored plane. They should be kept as planar travelers.

What is more interesting is what it's inclusion (and the inclusion of both Fey and Shadowfell flavored subclasses) means for future adventure paths. Are we getting a heavy planes hoping type story soon?
