Cosmic Deity power levels in 5E...

I must admit, I am really looking forward to this section. I've always liked your ability to analysis and extrapolate.

That took a bit of work in 5E, I think I didn't come up with the current solution for over a year. But I am happy with it now. As a byproduct it generated a spell damage equation so you can check what damage spells of each level should do and vice versa find out what level an epic spell will be if we just pick a random damage number.

Absolutely. 5E really needs a good high level monster book that is not simply a bunch of big bads like Demon Princes etc. Its possible some of the 2CGaming Epic books are great (?) but I won't be buying them out until after I finish my book.

Hence Neutronium Golems. ;)

I've always imagined the pantheon of some world teaming up to stack a ton of magical buffs on some guy so he could get close enough to forcecage the damn thing, and not knowing how to deal with it afterwards, so they just kept it as a second sun.

I have to admit I am not happy with infinite durability force barriers. I'm thinking they would all have a damage threshold.

I have the odd good idea.

Speaking of which I love that custom Tiamat miniature you have - very impressive (presumably Colossal scale rather than Gargantuan? ).

I have an idea about Mega-Sized miniatures - I might message you to chat about it. ;)
Technically the WizKids Tiamat is old school Colossal as the base is 7", but whitey is even bigger and it will be bigger still when I am finished with it! In case you missed it I am planning to modify it heavily: Building a Better Tiamat

I am happy to chat about mini's any time, but it is not like I am an expert or anything. My sculpting skills are pretty poor IMO, so I am hoping to improve them with my Better Tiamat project.

You could go the Primal Order route and say if god (or whatever) injects quintessence in their attacks/spells it destroys spells/barriers without them.

That's probably fair, when WotC wrote the spell, they probably weren't accounting for planet-cracking golems that could obliterate even overdeities with a single punch. Tbh how I'd handle it is to allow magical force effects to be destroyed by divine damage greater than 10 x the level of the effect that created it, or 100 x level for other damage types. This allows them to scale their defensive power somewhat, gives them a clear weakness, and doesn't mess with the observations of characters in lower levels of play, since they won't realistically hit one that hard unless they drop a building on it.

Also means a hypothetical pantheon threatened by one needs to be a bit more clever than simply throwing a 7th level spell at it and calling it a day. ;)

It looks awesome. Are you eventually going to paint it?

I'm not a fan of absolutes (if I can at all avoid them). Any force field might have the hit points of its creator and both damage threshold and regeneration equal to the spell level (or caster level?).
