That's pretty good. I'm working on a sort of knockdown/ranged trip mechanic for move object, since we've seen that in the movies. I'll let you know when I finally settle on something I'm satisfied with.

I haven't seen that one before. That's a good change, I think I'll use it. I also recommend the SWRPG FAQ. It compiles a lot of jedi counseling questions and rules changes, including my all-time favorite rule change, the reworking of the dissipate energy feat, which was totally imbalanced before.

Exactly my point. I was just using Star Wars as an example, because it's VERY familiar. I could just have easily pointed out that the DnD book "Unearthed Arcana" had a variant rule in it for defense bonus and pretty much stated that it was intended for settings in which armor was uncommon.

One thing that I'm fairly sure applies is how common armor is in the setting. For example, DnD doesn't have class defense bonuses because armor and magical defenses are fairly common, but in Star Wars, armor is only really used by armed soldiers, such as stormtroopers and, to a lesser extent...

The issue is that, unless you decide to rule differently, poison isn't a risk unless you take wound damage. That makes it so that poison has a significantly lessened effect, because in higher level combat (which is the most likely place to find poison, usually) you're less likely to be doing...

Sweet! I'm so going to throw IG-88 at my PCs when they're high enough level. The best thing about IG-88 is that, since he copied himself multiple times, killing him can easily be ruled as having no effect on the continuity whatsoever :lol:

IIRC, in Star Wars, you are only affected by injury poison if you take wound damage from the attack.

I don't think there are any rules for throwing lightsabers in the core book. I haven't seen it. I do know there isn't a range increment for lightsabers, though that shouldn't be that surprising.

Light side spirits are in the PotJ Sourcebook. It doesn't have anything on Dark Side spirits, though.
