I would use the alternate proficiency rules for it, ie. a dice. So at low levels it is a d4 and it will scale up with level. Also, make it require concentration, and possibly use up the action in oratory, song, or musical instrument, etc.

Not sure what you would call it, maybe the "Old School Feel" sentiment? I like how it reminds me of AD&D and 3.5, and just plays really well. Like it pulls the best from old editions, and adds a few new things into a neat package. Someone probably has a term for this already...

prep means prepare, so a DM preps for a session or campaign by creating things ahead of time. for encounters there are suggestions in the DMG. i repeat the advice to read through it, it will mostly answer your questions. also, for encounters, if they seem too easy, add in some reinforcements...

I would like to see a metamagic option for other spellcasters besides the sorcerer. Hmm, and maybe some sorcerer tweaks/buffs to compensate for that. I would /really/ love to see more domains for clerics. At least as many as what shipped in the PHB... I'd also like to see some type of mage...
