Deck of Many Things Art contest -Poll closed

Of course... :p Actually, I was just trying to clairfy what historical medieval art looks like. I agree with the rest of your post I pulled the original quote from. If I offended you or any of the artists, my apologies. Obviously, with magic, only the imagination limits. (And, thankfully...

Deck of Many Things Art contest -Poll closed

Good work/luck to everyone who entered. I voted for Sialia, but everyone did a great job. Not to be rude, but... Michelangelo and Da Vinci = Renaissance Rubens = Baroque Medieval art is frequently anonymous and looks like this:

Info from the WotC 2007 January to April Catalog

Thanks for the info Thalmin! I'm sorry for all the members of the Mispelled Name Club (it'd really PO me to be miscredited!). If it makes you feel better, I was taking a final exam when one of the students asked the professor (Dr. Armstrong), 'How do you spell your name?' He just looked at...

Would these maps make for a fun dungeon adventure?

Fish beat me to the punch!!!!

Would these maps make for a fun dungeon adventure?

also voted Maybe/Other It's too difficult for me to tell - low resolution, and only one you can see. I don't think dungeon crawls that confuse players are necessarily bad, but I do know they cause you problems: 'OK, now what are the dimensions of this room again?!?!?!?'

How many settings do you play?

Oops Sorry, I misread the poll. I voted 5+. I was counting settings I've played in the past. I should have voted 2 or 3(?). I play in a home-brew campaign, and I DM a Kalamar campaign that has excursions into Ravenloft (altered to fit the Kalamar 'flavor').

Episodic play / beginning sessions In Media Res

I think starting in medias res is an excellent idea to begin a campaign or 'new' adventure, but it would bother me if the GM said something along the lines of 'roll initiative' or 'an arrow barely misses you, what do you do?' every time I sat down at the game. Basically, I like to have a...

Do you use or not use specific rules because of fears of munchkinism?

This is basically my stance. I neither encourage nor discourage min-maxing. I do refer new players to Goblyns: http://thunt.comicgen.com/.

    Cheating - who cares?

I agree. If I'm a player, I'll 'tell' on another player if they cheat on a regular basis, but not if I only see them do it once or twice. As a player I don't cheat. If I consistently roll poorly, I change dice. As DM, I 'fudge' die rolls on a regular basis (only for the players' benefit)...

    English Majors and Poets...

Personally I'd go with Tennyson's 'Lady of Shalott': http://www.online-literature.com/tennyson/720/ rewite, but keep the meter, rhyme, and thematic aspects (death, isolation, lonliness, one can't undo an action, etc.) OR If you want to go with 'salvation' as a theme, then I'd recommend...

TSR Example from the worst TSR adventure module(s) ever published

Musn't forget: "If a brigand is captured, he will offer to lead the party to his hide-out (Area 2A Map) if they spare his life. He will not volunteer any more information about the hideout, but will not lie if asked a direct question about it." Obviously the brigand wouldn't lie... That's just...
